The Church of the Ascesion located in the Visoki Decani Monastery. Construction on this church began in 1327 and was completed in 1335. According to Father Jezekilj who guided us through the church, it is the best preserved Serbian Orthodox church in the world.
The photo on the left is of Salvatore at a natural spring located near the monastery. The photo on the right is the Italian Chaplain, who was our guide; Salvatore; Andy; Aldo; and an Italian soldier who is part of the guard detachment. This photo was taken at the rear of the monastery.
